Fun Stuff

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Probably because of the candy, but also because of the parties. We have an annual barn fun day complete with a costume class for horses and riders. Here are some fun places for costumes:

Moon Costumes - Great prices and a huge selection. I think they have every costume ever invented including a horse suit.
Oya Costumes - Good, but not great prices, but a great selection.

Entertainment Book- This one is on my mind because I just received my 2009 edition the other day. In case you have never heard of this book - Basically it's a huge coupon book. I'm not a person to use coupons, yet I've ordered this book for the last 4 years and saved a lot of money by using it. The book features restaurant and shopping coupons for your area. It also has travel and entertainment coupons. My husband and I keep a copy in our car and it has become a tradition to use one of the coupons during Sunday lunch. Usually a coupon is something like "buy an entree and get one free". As a lot of local establishments are featured in the book, we have tried numerous places that we would have otherwise ignored and now have many new favorite restaurants. If we don't like the restaurant... well at least it was a cheap meal! Use the book three times and it will pay for itself as most books are around $25 to $30. And, repeat customers get a discount on the next year's book.

Judy Singer's new book is out! Last year I read Judy Singer's first novel Horseplay and LOVED it! It was one of those books that makes you laugh out loud even when you are in a place where you shouldn't (like an airport - ask me how I know). I couldn't wait for her next book and am thrilled to see that it was recently released. Still Life with an Elephant is getting great reviews on Amazon and my book has been ordered!
